Volvo Trucks continues to lead the heavy electric truck market in Europe and North America, maintaining its position for the fifth consecutive year. By the end of 2024, Volvo Trucks commanded a 47% market share in Europe for heavy electric trucks (16 tonnes and above). In North America, the company holds a dominant share of over 40%.
In 2024, Volvo Trucks registered 1,970 electric trucks in Europe, with Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Switzerland being the top markets. Since launching serial production of electric trucks in 2019, Volvo has delivered over 4,800 electric trucks globally, offering a diverse range of models to cater to regional, city, and construction transport needs.
Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks, expressed pride in leading the shift to zero-emission transportation. He highlighted that Volvo’s electric trucks are designed for a variety of uses, and the upcoming models will feature ranges of up to 600 kilometers on a single charge, further enhancing the appeal of electric transport.
Alm also thanked transport operators for investing in electric trucks and praised the company’s dealers, suppliers, and employees for their role in the ongoing transition to zero emissions. The recognition of Volvo’s leadership reflects the growing confidence in the company’s innovative solutions for sustainable transportation.
