According to media reports, Volvo has no intentions to question the rush of low-end EVs in China. The company’s most low-end EV is the EX30, with a price tag of $28,000, and Volvo has no intentions of giving any model lower than this.
“I do not compete at the low end of the BEV space in China,” said Jim Rowan, CEO of Volvo. “How it can be a tough place to be,” he clarified.
The carmaker anticipates improved performance from the high-end EV market. With a range of 758 kilometers, Volvo refers to the EM90 as ‘a Scandinavian living room on wheels’ and the business offers it in China. The brand’s flagship SUV, the EX90, is available for $115,000 as well.
According to Rowan, “The $28,000 EX30 will continue to be the brand’s most economical model and that is as low as the company will go.”
According to reports, the corporation is accelerating the manufacturing of EX30 in Ghent, Belgium, in an effort to get around the new tariffs that the EU and the USA have imposed.
