The National Highways for Electric Vehicles and zingbus, the top surface mobility company in India, are collaborating on an e-mobility project. This collaboration will assist private diesel bus operators in accepting and using electric vehicles.
Zingbus conducts an exercise in comparison between “Electric Buses” and “Diesel Buses.” After a successful pilot, Zingbus anticipates that the cost of operating the vehicles will drop by 15-20%, increasing their profitability. The success of the pilot will encourage bus owners to purchase electric buses going forward and make the switch to green mobility for a sustainable future.
Prashant Kumar, CEO and Co-Founder of zingbus, highlighted the strategic partnership by stating that “the transportation industry is going through a major revolution, driven by the need to transition towards a cleaner and more sustainable future. Privately owned diesel bus fleets make up the largest portion of the intercity bus travel market today. By providing a supportive environment for private fleet operators, the National Highway for Electric Vehicles is actively fostering the adoption of electric buses.
NHEV has shown promising results. Electric vehicles have demonstrated a significantly lower cost of operation compared to diesel buses. Electric buses have also shown higher reliability and lower downtime, resulting in improved passenger satisfaction and higher revenues.
