Mouser Electronics has expanded its product offerings to include Carlo Gavazzi’s DCM1 DC energy meters with Ethernet connectivity. These meters are designed to meet the increasing demand for direct current (DC) metering in fast, ultra-fast, and hyper-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. They provide accurate monitoring and billing capabilities, essential for EV charging infrastructure and battery energy storage systems.
The DCM1 series supports direct connection for DC systems up to 1000V and 600A. Equipped with a transducer for voltage and current measurement, and a display unit featuring RS485 Modbus RTU and Ethernet Modbus TCP communication ports, these meters ensure seamless integration and reliable data transmission. A cable loss management function ensures that only the energy supplied to the vehicle is measured, excluding losses from cable resistance.
Safety features include automatic alerts for overtemperature, overcurrent, or overvoltage conditions. The meters are tamper-proof, with sealable measuring inputs and communication ports, ensuring data integrity. The DCM1 series complies with CE, cURus, MID, LNE (pending), Eichrecht, and CTEP standards, underscoring its suitability for various applications in the evolving EV charging landscape.
