Ola Electric, India’s largest EV manufacturer, has launched its first electric motorcycle lineup, the Roadster X series, marking its entry into the e-bike market. The series offers five variants priced between ₹74,999 and ₹1,54,999, with deliveries set to begin in mid-March.
The top-of-the-line Roadster X+ model features a 9.1kWh battery, utilizing 4680 Bharat Cell technology, offering a range of up to 501 km on a single charge. The basic versions, equipped with 2.5kWh, 3.5kWh, and 4.5kWh batteries, are priced at ₹74,999, ₹84,999, and ₹94,999, respectively.
The Roadster X series introduces several advanced technologies, including patented brake-by-wire with single ABS, flat cables, and an industry-first 4.3-inch LCD display. The motorcycles run on Ola’s proprietary MoveOS 5 system, featuring USB connectivity and a mid-motor with integrated MCU.
Ola Electric’s Chairman, Bhavish Aggarwal, emphasized the importance of motorcycles in India’s mobility transition, aiming to boost EV adoption and establish electric vehicles as the go-to choice for both urban and rural riders. The Roadster X series offers varying speeds and acceleration, with higher-end models reaching speeds of up to 125 km/h and accelerating from 0 to 40 km/h in as little as 2.7 seconds.
