Honda Cars India has achieved a significant milestone by securing E20 (20% ethanol-blended) compliance certification for all of its current vehicle models. This includes popular models like the Honda Elevate, Honda City e:HEV, Honda City, and Honda Amaze. The certification process is in line with the company’s efforts to support sustainable mobility and India’s push for greener transportation options.

Since 2009, Honda has ensured that all vehicles manufactured in India are compatible with ethanol-blended fuels, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to eco-friendly technologies. With the recent certification, all Honda vehicles, including the latest models, can run seamlessly on E20 petrol without requiring any modifications. This marks a critical step towards cleaner fuel usage in the automotive sector.

The Indian government has set a deadline for April 1, 2025, mandating that all gasoline-fueled and hybrid vehicles must be certified for E20 fuel to meet emission standards. Honda’s early compliance demonstrates its readiness for these regulations, solidifying the brand’s reputation as a future-focused automaker.

Ethanol-blended fuel is seen as a key solution to reducing dependency on fossil fuels and lowering carbon emissions. By making its entire range E20-compatible, Honda reinforces its commitment to supporting India’s transition to a cleaner, more sustainable automotive landscape.

As the deadline approaches, more automakers are expected to follow Honda’s lead, embracing ethanol-based fuel solutions. Honda’s proactive approach ensures that it remains a leader in driving forward the green mobility agenda, contributing to the government’s vision of a cleaner and greener future for India’s roads.
