Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, VinFast, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Motech Automotive Service Centers to significantly expand its EV service network in the Philippines. The partnership will convert 63 Motech locations into authorized service centers to provide comprehensive support for VinFast EV owners, covering maintenance, warranty, and repairs.
This collaboration aligns with VinFast’s commitment to accelerating the transition to electric mobility and meeting the growing demand for EVs in the region. The company plans to have over 100 service workshops across the Philippines by the end of this year.
Motech’s workshops will undergo upgrades to meet VinFast’s high standards. This includes improvements in facilities, equipment, and staff training. VinFast will also offer technical guidance to Motech’s personnel to ensure they are equipped to handle the increasing number of EVs in the country.
Johann Rommel Naguiat, President and CEO of Motech Automotive Philippines, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. He highlighted that it would not only support the Philippine EV market but also address concerns such as range anxiety and the availability of services for EV owners.
The expansion of VinFast’s service network comes at a time when the demand for EVs in the Philippines is on the rise. This effort will enhance the company’s presence and ensure more robust after-sales support for its growing customer base.
The partnership marks a significant step in VinFast’s strategy to solidify its position as a key player in the Philippine electric vehicle market. By improving accessibility to authorized service centers, the company aims to strengthen consumer confidence and contribute to the nation’s green mobility efforts.
