Hyundai has recently filed a trademark for the name ‘Insteroid’ with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), sparking speculation about a new addition to its electric vehicle (EV) lineup.

The ‘Insteroid’ name suggests a possible performance-oriented variant of Hyundai’s existing Inster EV. The Inster, known as the Casper Electric in some markets, is a compact electric crossover SUV that has garnered attention for its affordability and practicality.

The trademark filing hints at a larger, more powerful version of the Inster EV, potentially featuring a bigger battery for increased range and a more powerful electric motor for enhanced performance.

While official details are yet to be confirmed, the ‘Insteroid’ could incorporate futuristic design elements, such as a white color scheme with orange decals and a unique digital front fender display, setting it apart from the standard Inster model.

As Hyundai continues to expand its EV portfolio, the ‘Insteroid’ represents a potential new chapter in the company’s commitment to innovation and performance in the electric vehicle market.
