Hyundai Ioniq 9 Named Best Seven-Seat EV at 2025 TopGear Electric Awards

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 has been honored as the “Best Seven-Seat Electric Vehicle” at the 2025 TopGear Electric Awards. This recognition underscores Hyundai’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the electric vehicle (EV) sector.

Built on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, the Ioniq 9 is a full-size, three-row electric SUV that combines luxury with performance. It boasts a 110.3 kWh battery, offering a WLTP-certified range of up to 620 km on a single charge. The SUV supports ultra-fast charging, capable of replenishing from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes using a 350 kW charger. Variants include Long Range RWD, Long Range AWD, and a Performance AWD model, with the latter accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds.

The Ioniq 9’s design features Hyundai’s “Aerosthetic” philosophy, with a bold front fascia, pixel-themed LED lighting, and a low drag coefficient of 0.26. Inside, the SUV offers a minimalist yet luxurious cabin with dual 12.3-inch curved displays, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. Seating configurations include six or seven seats, with the second-row seats capable of swiveling 180 degrees to face the third row, enhancing the lounge-like experience.

Safety and convenience are paramount in the Ioniq 9, which comes equipped with up to 10 airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Additional features include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, allowing the SUV to power external devices, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates to keep the vehicle’s systems current.

Hyundai showcased the Ioniq 9 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, marking its debut in the Indian market. While the official launch date in India is yet to be announced, the SUV is expected to be priced around ₹1.3 crore (ex-showroom). Its introduction is anticipated to set new benchmarks in the Indian EV segment, especially in the premium SUV category.

With its blend of advanced technology, performance, and luxury, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 stands out as a formidable contender in the global EV market. The accolade from TopGear further cements its position as a leading choice for consumers seeking a spacious and eco-friendly vehicle.
