Alkegen has officially launched full-scale production of its cutting-edge Alkegen Aerogel insulation, aimed at significantly improving thermal management and safety in electric vehicle (EV) batteries. The product is now being manufactured at the company’s facility in Indiana, USA.

The aerogel-based insulation offers superior thermal performance while maintaining a lightweight profile, making it ideal for high-energy EV battery systems. By helping prevent thermal runaway events, Alkegen Aerogel contributes to higher safety standards across electric mobility platforms.

According to Alkegen, this innovation is the result of years of research and development focused on advanced materials that can meet the increasing demands of EV manufacturers. The insulation solution supports greater battery efficiency and improved lifecycle durability.

Alkegen’s Indiana plant has been expanded and upgraded to accommodate the large-scale production of aerogel materials. The company also plans further investment in capacity and technology to meet rising global demand for EV thermal protection solutions.

The product is being positioned as a game-changer in the industry, combining thermal protection, weight savings, and sustainability. Alkegen aims to supply top-tier battery and vehicle makers with this material as they seek safer and more efficient energy storage systems.

This move highlights Alkegen’s commitment to supporting the EV transition through advanced materials that prioritize safety, reliability, and innovation in next-generation electric mobility.
