Mumbai-based Neuron Energy has announced the launch of its advanced Gen-2 lithium-ion battery series, specially developed for India’s electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and light commercial vehicles. The new series is designed to handle India’s tough road conditions and climate, with nationwide availability starting July 2025.
Neuron aims to generate over ₹250 crore in revenue through its Gen-2 product line. The batteries will be supplied to a diverse clientele, including OEMs, EV fleet operators, logistics companies, battery dealers, and various government bodies, marking a strategic push into India’s growing EV sector.
The Gen-2 batteries come with major upgrades—improved structural strength, enhanced vibration resistance, and better heat dissipation. These features make them ideal for rugged usage, especially in Indian conditions. A Smart BMS (Battery Management System) ensures better cell efficiency, life cycle management, and operational safety.
Commenting on the launch, Pratik Kamdar, Co-founder and CEO of Neuron Energy, stated that this next-generation battery reflects the company’s commitment to building safe, intelligent, and cost-effective energy solutions that cater to India’s mobility transition.
The new launch follows the recent inauguration of Neuron’s 1.5 GWh battery manufacturing plant in Pune, and the company’s collaboration with major two-wheeler OEMs. These developments strengthen Neuron’s capacity to deliver high-volume battery packs with consistent quality and performance.
With the Gen-2 series, Neuron Energy is aligning itself with India’s mission for sustainable mobility, bringing together local manufacturing, enhanced battery durability, and smart BMS tech to lead the next wave of EV innovation across the country.
