Servotech Renewable Power System has secured an order from Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) to install a cutting‑edge EV charging hub at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru.
The installation will feature ten ultra‑fast DC chargers, each capable of delivering 240 kW. With a combined capacity of 2.4 MW, this will be India’s first—and largest—airside charging hub, aimed at powering electric buses for seamless ground operations.
Strategically located within airside areas, the chargers will support round‑the‑clock electric bus services shuttling passengers between terminals and aircraft, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing transport emissions at the airport.
Servotech will oversee the entire project lifecycle—from equipment supply and installation to testing, commissioning and five‑year maintenance—to ensure consistent uptime and energy performance.
This initiative aligns with Karnataka’s ambition to become a carbon‑negative state, marking a major step in greening airport infrastructure and furthering the state’s climate goals.
Sarika Bhatia, Director at Servotech, expressed pride in the collaboration, noting: “This project is more than an infrastructure milestone — it’s a step toward transforming urban transport at one of India’s busiest airports.”
