Designed for residential use, the charger combines robust hardware protection with smart energy management, offering electric vehicle owners a dependable charging experience in varying environmental conditions.
The IQ EV Charger 2 is engineered to maintain reliable charging performance even in demanding climates. It is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 55°C and at altitudes of up to 2,500 metres, helping reduce thermal derating and ensuring consistent charging efficiency throughout the year. This enables users to benefit from stable performance across different weather conditions.
To improve durability, the charger features an IP55-rated weather-resistant enclosure and an IK10-rated impact-resistant design, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations. The charger supports both single-phase and three-phase electrical systems, with charging capacity of up to 22 kW, depending on the installation. It also includes automatic phase switching to enhance installation flexibility and energy efficiency.
Enphase has integrated multiple hardware-based safety protections into the IQ EV Charger 2. These include overvoltage and overcurrent protection, relay weld detection, residual direct current detection, and PEN fault detection. The charger is certified by TÜV Rheinland, carries the CE mark, complies with key European EV charging standards, and has also received E.V. READY certification in France, confirming its safety and interoperability.
The IQ EV Charger 2 also supports smart energy management by integrating with Enphase solar and battery systems, while also functioning as a standalone EV charger. Features such as dynamic load balancing, a Class B MID-certified energy meter, and intelligent charging using surplus solar energy help users optimize electricity consumption. In supported European markets, activated chargers are backed by a five-year warranty and 24/7 customer support.
Available in both socketed and tethered versions, the tethered model comes with a 7.5-metre Type 2 charging cable for added convenience. With its combination of certified safety, reliable performance, and smart energy capabilities, the IQ EV Charger 2 reflects Enphase Energy’s continued focus on supporting the growing adoption of safe and efficient home EV charging solutions across Europe.
