Epsilon Aims to Empower Global EV Players with Non-China Sourcing Solutions

Epsilon Advanced Materials has announced its support to global electric vehicle (EV) makers looking to reduce dependency on Chinese battery materials. The Bengaluru-based battery materials firm is aiming to become a key enabler for companies seeking a reliable alternative supply chain outside of China.

Epsilon’s Managing Director, Vikram Handa, stated that the firm is already in active discussions with multiple global cell manufacturers and auto OEMs. These companies are in search of stable, non-China sourcing options for critical components like anode materials. Epsilon, backed by a robust Indian supply base, plans to become their trusted supplier.

Handa highlighted the growing international demand for supply diversification due to policy shifts and geopolitical concerns. With India emerging as a strong manufacturing hub, Epsilon seeks to position itself as a strategic partner offering security, scalability, and innovation in battery material solutions.

The company’s global expansion strategy is underpinned by its recently announced $650 million investment plan to set up a graphite anode manufacturing facility in the U.S. This project, set to commence operations by 2026, aligns with Washington’s push to develop local EV supply chains and reduce reliance on China.

Epsilon has also made strides in securing raw material sources, forming partnerships with Indian refineries and chemical suppliers. The company’s commitment to sustainability and traceability has strengthened its position as a viable global contender in the clean mobility revolution.

As global EV demand accelerates, Epsilon is stepping up as a crucial player in the battery materials space. With its India-first approach and global ambitions, the firm is poised to reshape how EV supply chains function, offering the world a much-needed alternative to China’s dominance.
