Hyundai Motor Company and India-based TVS Motor Company have announced a strategic collaboration to accelerate the development of electric three-wheelers in India. The partnership aims to strengthen last-mile mobility solutions while supporting the country’s transition toward cleaner transportation.
Under the agreement, both companies have signed a joint development pact to design, develop, and bring to market advanced electric three-wheelers tailored for Indian conditions. The move reflects a growing focus on sustainable mobility and rising demand for cost-effective electric transport across urban and semi-urban regions.
As part of the collaboration, Hyundai Motor Company will contribute its global expertise in design, engineering, and advanced mobility technologies. Meanwhile, TVS Motor Company will take charge of manufacturing, localization, and market distribution, leveraging its strong footprint in India’s three-wheeler segment.
The partnership builds on concepts showcased earlier at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, where both companies highlighted future-ready electric three-wheeler solutions. The upcoming products are expected to cater to both passenger and cargo segments, addressing diverse urban mobility needs.
India remains one of the world’s largest three-wheeler markets, making it a key focus area for electrification. Government initiatives promoting EV adoption, along with increasing awareness of sustainable transport, are expected to drive demand for electric three-wheelers in the coming years.
With this collaboration, Hyundai Motor Company and TVS Motor Company aim to combine global innovation with local manufacturing strength, positioning themselves to play a significant role in advancing electric last-mile mobility in India and potentially expanding into international markets.
