The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation announced the installation of ten new electric car charging stations in Mumbai.
According to the civic authority, five stations will be situated in Mumbai’s west suburbs, while four will be located on the island city. One stop will be in the eastern suburbs.
BMC stated that it will set up charging stations in collaboration with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. (HPCL). HPCL will be able to install charging stations in BMC’s public parking spaces. The BMC will not collect rent for the first few years.
The BMC will pay HPCL a fee of one rupee per unit of energy consumed. In addition, HPCL will charge fair rates to charge electric cars at charging stations.
Parel, Jacob Circle, Byculla, and Goregaon are just a few of the locations.
