Vietnamese EV manufacturer VinFast has officially rolled out the first VF MPV 7 electric vehicle from its Subang manufacturing facility in West Java, Indonesia. The development marks a significant milestone in the company’s Southeast Asia expansion strategy as VinFast continues to strengthen its local EV production capabilities in one of the region’s fastest-growing electric vehicle markets.
The announcement was made during a special four-day VF MPV 7 customer experience event held at Central Park Mall in Jakarta. The event allowed customers, media representatives, and business partners to test drive the electric MPV and experience its spacious interior, advanced smart features, and smooth electric driving performance. VinFast said the rollout reflects its long-term commitment to Indonesia’s rapidly developing EV ecosystem.
According to VinFast Indonesia CEO Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, the VF MPV 7 has been designed specifically for modern urban families looking for intelligent, accessible, and practical electric mobility solutions. The locally assembled MPV is expected to improve VinFast’s competitiveness in Indonesia while supporting the company’s localization strategy focused on affordable EV adoption across Southeast Asia.
The seven-seater electric MPV features a 60.2 kWh battery pack paired with a 150 kW electric motor producing 280 Nm of torque. VinFast claims the vehicle can deliver a driving range of up to 450 km on a full charge under NEDC standards. The company also highlighted its DC fast-charging capability, which allows the battery to recharge from 10 percent to 70 percent in nearly 30 minutes.
Inside the cabin, the VF MPV 7 comes equipped with a 10.1-inch infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, premium synthetic leather seats, automatic climate control with PM2.5 air filtration, and dedicated air vents for all three seating rows. The EV also includes smart features such as Indonesian voice control, smartphone-based remote vehicle management, cruise control, rear parking assist, and multiple safety technologies aimed at enhancing passenger comfort and convenience.
The rollout comes just months after VinFast inaugurated its Subang EV plant in December 2025 as part of its global manufacturing expansion plan. Built on a 171-hectare site, the facility is expected to support both domestic demand and exports across regional markets in the future. VinFast is also offering special benefits for early Indonesian buyers, including cashback incentives and free charging access through V-Green charging stations until March 2029.
