Zelio E-Mobility, a rapidly expanding electric two and three-wheeler manufacturer that has been doubling its growth year over year, has announced the opening of its new manufacturing facility in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, marking a major step in the company’s strategic expansion across South India.

Strategically located at Trichy Road, Nagiyyaan Thottam, Lakshmi Nagar Kannampalayam, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, the new facility spans approximately 39,000 sq. ft. and will support electric scooter assembly, storage, logistics, and allied business operations. The commencement of operations starts today, at the Coimbatore facility will primarily cater to southern markets including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and South Maharashtra.

The Coimbatore facility has an installed production and assembly capacity of 60,000 units per annum. During its initial phase of operations, the plant is expected to manufacture and assemble approximately 24,000–30,000 electric two-wheelers annually, with production gradually scaling in line with market demand and operational ramp-up.

Over the next 12–24 months, the Coimbatore facility is expected to accelerate Zelio E-Mobility’s growth in southern markets by strengthening dealer penetration, enhancing after-sales service, and improving supply chain efficiency. The plant is also expected to contribute meaningfully to the company’s revenues, profitability, and market share in the region.

The Coimbatore facility currently employs 30 direct workers and will play a key role in Zelio E-Mobility’s previously announced plan to surpass 500 employees in the current financial year, contributing through the addition of 100+ personnel over the coming months. Established with a capital investment of up to INR 1 crore, the plant will manufacture and assemble electric two-wheeler models from Zelio E-Mobility’s product portfolio, with upcoming model details to be announced at a later stage.
