DRIVN has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JBM Electric Vehicles to accelerate electric commercial mobility in India through the deployment of 500 electric luxury buses over the next 12 months. The collaboration aims to strengthen the country’s sustainable transportation ecosystem by making electric buses more accessible to fleet operators through an integrated leasing and mobility solution.
Under the agreement, JBM Electric Vehicles will supply 500 electric luxury buses to DRIVN, with deliveries planned in phases over the coming year. The first phase will focus on intercity luxury coach operations, enabling transport operators to expand their electric fleets while reducing dependence on conventional fuel-powered buses.
The partnership brings together JBM Electric Vehicles’ expertise in manufacturing electric buses and DRIVN’s commercial vehicle leasing platform. Along with vehicle deployment, the collaboration will offer a complete mobility package that includes long-term financing, maintenance services, and charging infrastructure, helping fleet operators adopt electric mobility with lower operational complexity.
Beyond the initial rollout, both companies will explore opportunities to expand electric mobility solutions across additional commercial transport segments, including school transportation, employee mobility, and airport transit services. The initiative is expected to support wider EV adoption while addressing the growing demand for cleaner and more efficient passenger transport across India.
Commenting on the partnership, Alpna Jain, Co-founder and Chief Business Officer of DRIVN, said the company is focused on making commercial fleet electrification more practical and financially viable. She noted that partnering with JBM Electric Vehicles will help deliver reliable, end-to-end mobility solutions that simplify electric bus adoption for fleet operators and contribute to India’s transition towards sustainable transportation.
Nishant Arya, Chairman of JBM Electric Vehicles, said the collaboration represents an important step in expanding electric bus deployment across the country. According to the companies, the partnership will help reduce barriers to commercial EV adoption while strengthening India’s clean mobility ecosystem through advanced electric buses, integrated support services, and scalable transportation solutions.
