BikeWo Green Tech has entered into a strategic partnership with Yubhas Renewables to conduct operational validation of solar-assisted electric three-wheelers aimed at improving last-mile transportation across rural and semi-urban India. The collaboration will evaluate the vehicles under real-world commercial operating conditions before their planned market launch, supporting the country’s transition toward sustainable mobility solutions.

As part of the pilot programme, BikeWo will deploy its rider network and operational expertise to test the vehicles across diverse operating environments. The field trials will assess critical performance indicators, including driving range, battery efficiency, payload capacity, thermal management, braking performance, ride quality, operating costs, and overall vehicle reliability. Feedback collected during these trials will help refine the product before large-scale commercialization.

Beyond validating the technology, the partnership also aims to promote rural entrepreneurship by creating livelihood opportunities around clean transportation. The companies are exploring a skill development initiative that would train rural youth in vehicle operations, maintenance, customer service, and basic business management, enabling them to become owner-operators of solar-assisted electric vehicles.

The initiative may also support eligible participants in accessing financing under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, subject to lender approvals and eligibility norms. The partners believe that widespread deployment of these vehicles could strengthen passenger mobility, agricultural logistics, village deliveries, healthcare access, and other essential last-mile services while creating sustainable income opportunities for rural communities.

Commenting on the collaboration, BikeWo Green Tech CEO Hiten Pal Saklani said the company continues to explore innovative mobility technologies that improve operational efficiency while supporting environmental sustainability. He added that the partnership with Yubhas Renewables provides an opportunity to evaluate an emerging clean mobility solution under commercial conditions while encouraging rural entrepreneurship and livelihood generation.

Yubhas Renewables Founder and CEO Sai Satyam Pradhan stated that the company’s vision is to develop practical solar-assisted mobility solutions tailored to the transportation needs of rural India. He noted that operational insights from BikeWo’s field network will help enhance vehicle reliability, affordability, and commercial viability. Together, the two companies aim to build a scalable clean mobility ecosystem that accelerates electric vehicle adoption, supports rural economic development, and contributes to India’s broader sustainability goals.
