Ola Electric has expanded its energy business with the launch of an enhanced Shakti energy storage portfolio, moving beyond electric mobility into residential, commercial, industrial and utility-scale energy storage. The company unveiled the portfolio on August 15, 2026, with solutions designed to store electricity when it is available and supply it when required, ranging from home backup to large-scale grid applications.

The expanded portfolio is built around indigenous Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery technology and Ola Electric’s vertically integrated capabilities spanning battery cells, packs and energy storage systems. The company has structured the portfolio across three key segments: Shakti Gen2 for homes, Shakti Rack for commercial and infrastructure applications, and Mahashakti for industrial and utility-scale energy storage.

For residential users, Shakti Gen2 combines battery backup, intelligent energy management and solar storage in a single system. It is offered in 4.6 kWh and 9.2 kWh variants, with power outputs of 3 kW and 6 kW, respectively. The introductory prices are ₹99,999 for the 4.6 kWh model and ₹1,74,999 for the 9.2 kWh model. Ola Electric has opened reservations at ₹999, with deliveries scheduled to begin in November 2026.

The Shakti Rack range is aimed at commercial and infrastructure requirements. It includes AC and DC configurations, providing a modular approach to energy storage for applications that require larger capacity than residential systems. Ola Electric has positioned the range for commercial establishments and infrastructure applications, with availability scheduled for March 2027.

At the industrial and utility end, Mahashakti is designed for large-scale energy storage requirements. Ola Electric’s official specifications show the containerised Mahashakti system with 2.5 MW of power output and 6.26 MWh of energy capacity. The platform is intended to support applications such as peak-load management, renewable-energy integration, grid stability and large-scale energy storage.

With the Shakti portfolio, Ola Electric is seeking to extend its battery and cell technology beyond electric vehicles and establish a broader presence in the energy storage market. The company said the initiative will leverage its Gigafactory, indigenous LFP cells and vertically integrated technology capabilities to address energy storage requirements from individual homes to the electricity grid. The Shakti Rack and Mahashakti products are expected to become available from March 2027.
