Kinetic Watts & Volts, Kinetic’s electric mobility business, is evaluating opportunities to expand its electric two-wheeler operations into international markets. The company is currently assessing seven countries across Europe, neighbouring Asian markets and Africa as part of its next phase of growth beyond India.

The initial markets under consideration include Turkey in Europe, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in neighbouring markets, along with Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt in Africa. Kinetic EV is assessing these markets based on the potential for electric two-wheelers, regulatory requirements, customer needs, evolving EV ecosystems and opportunities to develop suitable distribution and partnership networks.

The international expansion plan comes as Kinetic EV continues to strengthen its presence in the Indian market. The company currently operates 45 exclusive showrooms across India, while around 40 additional outlets are expected to become operational over the next two months. KWV has also issued 150 Letters of Intent (LOIs) for its exclusive dealership network.

To support its international growth plans, Kinetic Watts & Volts has appointed Makarand Joshi to lead international business development. Joshi brings more than two decades of experience in developing international markets for Indian automotive products, with experience across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa. His background includes work across two-wheelers, commercial vehicles and tractors, along with distribution and market development.

Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Kinetic Watts & Volts, said international markets represent an important opportunity as the company enters the next phase of its electric mobility journey. He said the company is focused on identifying suitable markets, partnerships and opportunities to take the Kinetic EV proposition to international markets while continuing to build its domestic presence.

For now, Kinetic EV’s overseas plans remain under evaluation, with no specific launch timelines or market-entry volumes announced. The company is simultaneously strengthening its Indian dealership network and developing the capabilities and partnerships needed to support a potential global expansion of its electric two-wheeler business.
