EaseMyTrip plans to build manufacturing capacity for 5,000 electric buses annually over the next five years as part of its Vision 2030 roadmap. The company has also marked the debut of electric buses in Bhopal through its electric mobility arm, Easy Green Mobility (EMTev). The initiative expands EaseMyTrip’s presence into electric bus manufacturing and operations.
The company’s plans cover an integrated mobility ecosystem comprising vehicle manufacturing, fleet operations, service support and progressive localisation of components. Through EMTev, EaseMyTrip is looking to build capabilities across electric bus manufacturing, operations and localisation as it works towards its Vision 2030 objectives.
Rikant Pittie, CEO and Co-Founder of EaseMyTrip, said EMTev aims to build capabilities in electric bus manufacturing, operations and localisation, with a focus on scale, efficiency and long-term value creation for India’s mobility ecosystem. Manoj Soni, CEO of EMTev, said the company is focusing on both intra-city and intercity electric buses, with long-range battery technology, fast charging, advanced safety systems and passenger comfort.
EMTev’s initial electric bus portfolio includes a 12-metre electric seater coach with a seating capacity of 45 passengers plus the driver. The coach is equipped with an LFP battery offering 423.9 kWh of total energy, a PMSM motor, air suspension, Electronic Braking System (EBS) with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) braking, and EHPS steering.
According to the company, the electric bus features an LFP battery pack with liquid cooling technology and supports fast charging through a dual-gun configuration. The electric bus programme also builds on the operating experience of YOLO Bus, EMTev’s operating arm, which already operates conventional intercity buses across multiple southern Indian markets.
With the Bhopal rollout and its planned manufacturing capacity, EaseMyTrip is working to develop its electric mobility business across manufacturing, fleet operations, service support and component localisation. The company’s target of building capacity for 5,000 electric buses annually within the next five years forms a key part of its Vision 2030 roadmap.
