According to a senior company official, BMW is approaching to further extend its sturdy electric vehicle (EV) portfolio in India with replicas in various body layouts and at distinct price points. The company has already retailed more than 2,000 units of electric cars in India, with the iX SUV and the i7 sedan playing a noteworthy role.

Currently, BMW Group India sells cars (BMW and MINI) and electric two-wheelers (BMW Motorrad) in the country. Electric vehicles account for ten percent of the company’s overall automobile sales.

BMW’s electric car lineup includes sedans like the i4, i5, and i7, as well as SUVs like the iX1 and iX. There are electric variants of MINI, including the Countryman and SE. BMW Motorrad now owns the CE 04 model, but next month it will launch the domestically produced CE 02 model.

“We still have the same EV strategy for the future as we did two and a half years ago. We aim to offer our clients as many options as we can, in a variety of body forms and at varying pricing ranges. We currently have the most diverse portfolio because of this. We will keep expanding the network of charging stations for our users,” BMW Group India President and CEO Vikram Pawah told.
