In this role, he will report to Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division, and Hemant Sikka, President of the Farm Equipment Sector.

The initiative to launch and manage the EV charging business will come from Apte. He will put together a team of individuals who are dedicated to planning, implementing, and creating the infrastructure required to charge cars at residences, places of business, and other locations. The business announced that he will collaborate closely with them to develop new avenues for expansion in the future, making use of the existing Powerol network.

Mahindra & Mahindra has scheduled at least six more electric vehicles for the following two to three years, beginning with the 3XO electric and the ground-up battery EVs on the Inglo platform starting in 2025. BE05, BE07, BE09, XUV e8, and XUV e9 are the models in question.

The company has committed to investing over Rs 12,000 crore in its EV SUV business, which has a 1.2 lakh unit annual capacity. The business is expected to begin operations in the first quarter of 2025, with plans for further growth. M&M aims to have 20 to 30 percent of its overall sales in the electric car industry during the next three to five years.
