The technology for Honda Motor’s forthcoming electric vehicles, which will go on sale worldwide in 2026, has been made public. The company’s new “Zero series” of electric vehicles will feature these technologies. The Japanese corporation states that its objectives are to employ the most recent technologies, reduce vehicle weight, and boost production efficiency.

It aims to achieve a range of at least 480 kilometers on a single charge by lightening the vehicle. Further space will be available for battery cases that are slimmer. It will weigh about 100 kg less with a simpler body structure and fewer main parts.

The use of megacasting technology will result in a more economical and efficient battery case production process with fewer parts.

Honda claims that the next generation of electric cars will have a self-driving AI system that can evaluate the health of the driver and know when to take a break.

Honda President Mibe Toshihiro reiterated his commitment to long-term planning. “Unless we create new global value, we can’t survive with our scale,” Mibe said. “We intend to grow our Zero series, and I’m confident that the course we’re taking with it is the right one.”

Honda plans to introduce the new Zero EV series in North America, Asia, and Europe starting in 2026. It aims to have seven globally-marketed cars in its lineup by 2030.
