The “Eight70 Warranty” was introduced by electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy for their Rizta and Ather 450 series scooters. By providing long-term battery health guarantee, the warranty—which was developed in partnership with Reliance General Insurance—addresses the main worries of EV buyers.
The Eight70 Warranty covers up to 80,000 kilometers or eight years, whichever comes first. It ensures a minimum of 70% battery health and provides total protection against manufacturing defects and failures during the warranty term. Notably, the warranty has no upper limit on claim amounts and ensures that claims cannot be rejected for deep battery drain caused by leaving the scooter uncharged or inactive for extended periods of time.
Battery lifespan is a crucial factor for EV buyers, according to Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy. Customers’ worries regarding the longevity and replacement costs of the batteries in their electric scooters were addressed with the introduction of the new Eight70 Warranty, which provides 70% battery health assurance for a maximum of eight years.
The Eight70 Warranty is a 3-year add-on to the pro-pack’s normal 5-year warranty that is available for all lines. The pro-pack, which is available to customers who select it and costs Rs 4,999 (GST included), adds even more peace of mind to Ather’s EV owners.
The 450 series and Rizta are part of Ather’s product portfolio, which caters to various clientele groups. The 450 series, which includes models like as the 450X, 450S, and 450 Apex, is primarily marketed at performance enthusiasts. Meanwhile, the Rizta, which was introduced earlier this year, caters to family-oriented users.
