With 69 metro stations spread around the city, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) is well-positioned to revolutionize Bengaluru residents’ everyday commutes thanks to its partnership with SUN Mobility, a leading supplier of electric vehicle (EV) energy infrastructure.

Metro riders will benefit from this innovative partnership’s increased accessibility and convenience. Seven stations are currently in operation, and 12 more are scheduled to debut, demonstrating the impressive success of the initial installations along the green and purple lines.

These cutting-edge battery-swapping stations, which are positioned thoughtfully in parking lots and auto stands, serve commuters heading to and from metro trains and offer effective and environmentally friendly modes of transportation. Together, these stations have facilitated an amazing 125,000 kilometers of travel over the past month, serving an astounding 19,000 car throughput. Approximately 2800 vehicles, comprising 2300 two-wheeler trips and 500 three-wheeler rides, have been served by each BMRCL station on average.

“BMRCL is committed to enabling sustainable urban mobility through innovative solutions,” stated Mr. Maheshwar Rao M, Managing Director of BMRCL. Our collaboration with SUN Mobility provides EV users with outstanding value by improving last-mile connectivity and effective battery swapping stations. By working together, we hope to make this project city-wide and have a revolutionary effect on urban mobility.

“We’re honored to work with BMRCL, making affordable, dependable, and pollution-free last-mile connectivity a reality for Bengaluru’s metro commuters,” a SUN Mobility official stated. For all parties involved, our swappable battery solution increases price and accessibility. We value BMRCL’s forward-thinking approach to promoting EV adoption and making Bangalore cleaner. As a result, the entire commute will be electric, resulting in reduced carbon emissions and improved air quality for everyone.
