The Rizta electric scooter, which targets Indian families, was introduced by Bengaluru-based Ather Energy in an effort to reach a wider audience than just performance fanatics. There are two varieties of the Rizta available: the Rizta Z, which costs Rs 1,49,999, and the Rizta S, which starts at Rs 1,09,999. The battery range of the Rizta Z is 160 km, while the Rizta S has a 2.9 kWh battery with a range of 123 km.

Tarun Mehta, CEO of Ather Energy, emphasized the scooter’s roomy layout and asserted that it has the biggest seat in the Indian market. Ather’s performance-focused 450 series has been replaced with the eco-friendly and useful Rizta series, which is designed for families. Both the Rizta S and Rizta Z include two riding modes, Zip and Smart Eco, and a large storage capacity. Ather also boasts a vast fast-charging network with over 2,400 public charging points in India.

Alongside the Rizta, the business is launching the Halo and Halo Bit smart helmets, which come equipped with wireless charging, Harman speakers, and Ather Chit Chat for improved rider communication. For added convenience, the Rizta also works with Alexa.

Ather has been working on the Rizta since 2019 in order to add cutting-edge features for the family market. The scooter will face competition from other electric versions, such as the Vida V1 Pro, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak. Ather has grown significantly despite its past emphasis on the performance area; in FY24, retail sales reached 1,08,870 units, giving it a 12% market share.

Mehta pointed out that the business is entering tier 2 markets and growing its sales there, moving beyond specialty markets. The government’s electric car subsidy is about to expire, and Ather is ready to meet the anticipated increase in demand with its manufacturing capacity by launching the Rizta at the same time.
