Ather Energy has announced the official launch of its Rizta electric scooter in Sri Lanka, marking a major push in its international expansion plans. The scooter made its debut at the Colombo Motor Show 2025 — one of Sri Lanka’s biggest automotive events — signaling Ather’s commitment to strengthening its presence in South Asia.

The launch has been executed in partnership with Evolution Auto Pvt. Ltd., Ather’s authorised distributor in Sri Lanka. This move follows Ather’s entry into the Sri Lankan market in December 2024 with its flagship 450X model, and with Rizta, the company aims to widen its appeal in the region.

Ather Energy’s Chief Business Officer, Ravneet Singh Phokela, highlighted that the Rizta has already seen robust demand in both India and Nepal. He believes its performance, comfort, and advanced features make it a very good fit for Sri Lankan road and commuting conditions.

On the specs front, the Ather Rizta is loaded for family use. It comes with a 34-litre under-seat storage compartment, SkidControl technology for added safety, and — in its Z variant — a 7-inch TFT touchscreen that supports Google Maps navigation, music streaming, and call management.

To back its growing EV user base in Sri Lanka, Ather has already rolled out its Ather Grid fast-charging network in key locations and runs 40 Ather Experience Centres, which will handle sales, service, and customer engagement across the country.

With the Rizta now in the mix, Ather Energy aims to solidify its leadership in the rapidly expanding South Asian electric two-wheeler market, while also building a stronger and more accessible EV ecosystem in Sri Lanka.
