In a significant move to advance electric mobility in India, Atul Greentech, Valeo India, and Honda Power Pack Energy India (HEID) have teamed up to introduce battery-swappable electric three-wheelers. This partnership aims to address the challenges of electric vehicle adoption, particularly the issue of charging downtime, by offering a new solution for urban transport.

The collaboration has led to the development of two new models: the ENERGIE SWAP for cargo use and the MOBILI SWAP for passenger transport. These vehicles provide a range of 74 km and 79 km per battery swap, respectively. This innovative approach to EV charging could revolutionize last-mile connectivity and urban logistics by significantly reducing the time spent on recharging.

Each partner brings a unique strength to the table. HEID contributes its battery-swapping infrastructure, Valeo provides a compact 48V electric powertrain system, and Atul’s expertise in electric three-wheeler manufacturing ensures the success of this initiative. This synergy aims to fast-track the adoption of electric vehicles in India.

Atul Greentech, part of Atul Auto, is leveraging its experience in producing electric three-wheelers for both local and international markets. Valeo’s small powertrain systems are designed for India’s smaller mobility vehicles, while HEID’s network of battery swap stations supports the entire ecosystem, ensuring that EVs remain operational with minimal downtime.

This partnership is a strategic effort to promote the use of electric vehicles in India, particularly for fleet operators and individual users. It tackles crucial barriers such as charging time and range anxiety, making electric mobility a more viable option for the growing demand in India’s transport sector.
