Eastman Auto and Power Ltd (EAPL) has entered into a strategic partnership with Urja Mobility to supply advanced lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) in India. The collaboration will see Eastman providing over 20,000 lithium-ion batteries to Urja’s battery leasing service, primarily targeting electric three-wheelers.

Urja Mobility, a leader in the battery leasing business, will integrate Eastman’s high-performance batteries into its fleet. These batteries will be used in electric three-wheelers, facilitating a more cost-effective and sustainable solution for electric vehicle operators.

As part of the partnership, Urja will also leverage Eastman’s advanced battery technology alongside its own IoT and software capabilities. This integration will enable remote monitoring and management of the batteries, optimizing their efficiency and longevity.

The collaboration comes as part of both companies’ commitment to accelerating India’s transition to electric mobility. By providing an affordable, reliable battery leasing option, Urja aims to lower the barrier to EV adoption and support the country’s green mobility vision.

The partnership marks a significant step in the growth of India’s EV infrastructure and is expected to play a key role in reducing carbon emissions. Both Eastman and Urja are confident that this initiative will foster long-term sustainability and support India’s push toward greener, more energy-efficient transportation.
