At Auto Shanghai 2025, Audi showcased its strategic commitment to the Chinese market by unveiling a range of innovative electric vehicles (EVs) and introducing a new brand identity tailored for tech-savvy consumers. The highlight was the debut of the AUDI E concept, a fully electric Sportback designed to meet the specific preferences of Chinese customers. This move underscores Audi’s dedication to expanding its presence in the world’s largest automotive market.

The AUDI E concept, developed in collaboration with SAIC Motor, features a dual-motor setup delivering 570 kW of power and 800 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. Equipped with a 100-kWh battery, it offers a range of 700 km on a full charge. The vehicle’s 800-volt architecture allows for rapid charging, providing over 370 km of range in just 10 minutes. Inside, the AUDI Assistant, an AI-powered avatar, offers intuitive touch and voice controls, enhancing the user experience.

Audi’s partnership with SAIC Motor has led to the development of the Advanced Digitized Platform, a new EV architecture designed specifically for the Chinese market. This platform supports modular components and advanced electronic systems, enabling the production of various models with different wheelbases and configurations. The collaboration aims to accelerate Audi’s electrification strategy in China by introducing three new models in the B and C segments, with the first expected to launch in 2025.

In addition to the AUDI E concept, Audi presented the Q6L e-tron, the first locally produced vehicle based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE). Set to be manufactured at the new Audi FAW NEV Company production site in Changchun, the Q6L e-tron features a longer wheelbase and design elements tailored to Chinese consumers. This model represents Audi’s commitment to offering market-specific innovations and expanding its electric vehicle lineup in China.

Audi’s dual-partner strategy in China, involving collaborations with both FAW and SAIC, enables the brand to cater to a diverse customer base by offering a wide range of models, from combustion-engine vehicles to advanced electric cars. By leveraging local partnerships and focusing on digitalization and sustainability, Audi aims to strengthen its position in China’s competitive automotive market.

With these initiatives, Audi demonstrates its commitment to innovation and adaptability, ensuring that its offerings align with the evolving preferences of Chinese consumers. The company’s strategic focus on electrification, local partnerships, and customer-centric design positions it for continued growth and success in China’s dynamic automotive landscape.
