In a bid to accelerate electric mobility uptake in Rajasthan, BattRE has teamed up with Battery Smart, one of India’s fastest-growing battery-swapping networks, to roll out swapping solutions in the city of Jaipur. This strategic partnership aims to ease access to charged batteries for two- and three-wheeler users, addressing major pain-points in the EV ecosystem.

Under this collaboration, Battery Smart will deploy swap-stations at key urban locations in Jaipur, enabling rapid battery replacement for riders rather than waiting at charging points. The company had recently marked a milestone by inaugurating its 100 th swap-station in the city, signalling strong momentum in its local rollout.

For BattRE, a Jaipur-based EV maker focused on two-wheelers, the tie-up with a dense swapping network helps reduce range anxiety and service downtime among its users. By enabling access to fully charged batteries on-demand, the company hopes to enhance the overall ownership and usage experience of its EVs.

Battery Smart brings to the table an asset-light deployment model where partner sites such as parking lots, malls, fuel-stations and residential hubs can host swap-stations within a radius of about 1 km for users. The intention is to replicate the convenience of refuelling – but via battery swap instead of petrol.

From a wider industry perspective, this partnership aligns with national goals of increasing EV adoption by tackling two major barriers: upfront cost (by decoupling battery ownership) and charging time/range anxiety (by enabling rapid battery change). In doing so, the collaboration contributes to building a more robust swapping ecosystem in tier-2 cities like Jaipur.

Going forward, both BattRE and Battery Smart will likely monitor user uptake, station utilisation and partnership site selection to scale further. For Jaipur, the roll-out of such swapping infrastructure could enhance EV penetration and support last-mile mobility solutions in the region.
