In a major step towards boosting clean mobility in India’s urban logistics sector, BLive EZY has announced its expansion into Kolkata, with plans to deploy a fleet of 5,000 electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers over the next three years. The move highlights the company’s intent to transform last-mile delivery operations in an e-commerce-driven city by leveraging a large EV footprint.
The Kolkata rollout represents a key milestone in BLive EZY’s nationwide growth strategy, which already includes operations in Bengaluru, Chennai and Goa. The company currently has more than 3,000 EVs in service and works with over 50 franchise partners across India. By selecting Kolkata as its next city, BLive EZY is targeting one of India’s rapidly growing e-commerce hubs where the potential for electrification of delivery fleets remains largely untapped.
Under its franchise-based business model, BLive EZY enables entrepreneurs and small business owners to join the e-mobility wave. With an initial investment of around ₹ 25 lakh, franchisees can own and operate their electric vehicle fleets, while the company handles fleet deployment, maintenance and rider operations. The franchise model not only offers income opportunities for local partners but also supports the scaling of sustainable mobility infrastructure.
Kolkata currently has an EV penetration in delivery fleets of only around 2 percent, leaving a significant gap that BLive EZY aims to bridge. By introducing a mix of electric two- and three-wheelers sourced through partnerships with Indian manufacturers such as TVS, Ampere and Kinetic Green, the company expects to reduce emissions, lower operational costs for delivery operators, and raise overall efficiency in last-mile delivery.
Commenting on the expansion, BLive’s Co-Founder & CEO Samarth Kholkar said, “Our entry into Kolkata marks a new chapter in our mission to make clean mobility accessible to everyone. With growing demand in last-mile delivery, we are committed to providing reliable EV solutions while empowering local entrepreneurs through our franchise model.”
With this strategic foray into Kolkata, BLive EZY is not only growing its geographic footprint but contributing to India’s broader green mobility and net-zero emissions ambitions. The company has indicated plans to further extend operations into other major metros such as Mumbai, Pune and Delhi by 2026.
