BYD sent 100 fully electric buses from its Qingdao factory to CUTCSA, the largest electric public transportation operator in Uruguay. This delivery ceremony marks a key milestone for BYD in the worldwide commercial vehicle market and improves Uruguay’s green transportation industry. Deputy General Manager Zhang Lin of BYD America Auto Sales Division, President Juan Antonio Salgado, General Manager Fernando Barcia, Minister Counselor Martin Orlando of Uruguay in China, and General Manager Wang Bao Can of BYD’s Commercial Vehicle Factory in Qingdao were among the guests who attended the event.
The CUTCSA granted the all-electric buses outstanding ratings for their efficiency, quality, functionality, and environmental sustainability during the event. The company declared that it is dedicated to cooperating in order to have an entirely electric fleet by 2040.
The delivered 12-meter-long K9UD electric buses are specifically tailored for the Uruguayan market, prioritizing energy efficiency, intelligent technology, ecological sustainability, comfort, and security.
These specially designed buses represent the two businesses’ sincere cooperation and ongoing progress, as well as showcasing BYD’s most current technological innovations. They also represent an important turning point in Uruguay’s endeavor to electrify all forms of public transportation.
While BYD leads the region in electrifying public transportation, its new energy buses have made significant inroads into key Latin American countries like Ecuador, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, and Colombia.
