In addition of releasing a smartphone app that lets drivers track availability, locations, and costs on their travels, Kwik Trip announced that it would be adding electric car chargers at many of its Midwest-based businesses. By supplying connectors that accept both the Combined Charging Standard (CCS) and the North American Charging Standard (NACS), the program aims to provide drivers in the Midwest with access to direct current fast chargers.

“Our aim at Kwik Trip is to attend to every guest. We are happy to provide our guests who drive electric vehicles with the Kwik Charge service. In addition to charging their car, they will have access to all of our high-quality products within our stores,” said, CEO and President of Kwik Trip Scott Zietlow.

The company claims that with its new Kwik ChargeTM service, owners of almost any electric vehicle will be able to charge at a spotless, secure location that is manned twenty-four hours a day.

At least 150kW of power should be available from each charger when four cars are plugged in; if only one car is plugged in, the capacity should be 400kW.

Instead of giving a projected timeline for when drivers will be able to utilize the chargers, Kwik Trip only stated that prices may change based on a variety of factors.
