In a significant boost to southern India’s electric mobility push, Chennai is set to welcome nine new EV charging stations across key urban locations, through the rollout by Relux Electric GCC.
The company plans to position the stations strategically in high-demand urban clusters, commercial hubs and major transit corridors. These new charging points will support both AC and DC fast chargers, catering to two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger cars and commercial EV fleets alike.
Relux Electric GCC emphasised that this expansion forms part of its larger mission to facilitate India’s transition to sustainable transportation. By offering reliable and future-ready charging infrastructure, the firm aims to reduce range anxiety and improve convenience for the growing EV base in Chennai.
Industry experts highlight that the state of Tamil Nadu has emerged as a frontrunner in EV manufacturing and adoption, thanks to supportive policies and continued investment in infrastructure. The latest network expansion is well aligned with Tamil Nadu’s ambitious EV roadmap, which targets wide-scale electrification in both passenger and logistics segments.
Relux already operates a strong charging-network footprint across multiple cities, and its Chennai rollout signals the firm’s commitment to building a dense, efficient and user-friendly grid. More stations are expected in the pipeline, as the company gears to match the increasing demand from urban commuters and commercial operators.
With these nine new installations, Chennai is enhancing its charging accessibility, thereby supporting emission-reduction goals and long-term sustainability efforts in its urban transport ecosystem.
