Electric Vehicles An Urgent Need Of The Hour: UP Transport Minister

Uttar Pradesh Transport Minister Shri Daya Shankar Singh and eminent politician Smt. Smriti Irani made a notable visit to the Khalsa E-Vehicles Pvt. Ltd booth at the ongoing 21st EV Expo 2024 in Delhi on Saturday. Khalsa EV’s booth highlighted an impressive range of commercial electric vehicles, featuring the newly launched three-wheeler auto, ‘Luka,’ unveiled yesterday.

During his visit, Shri Daya Shankar Singh emphasized the critical importance of adopting electric vehicles to address escalating global pollution levels. “The growing pollution crisis necessitates immediate action. Embracing eco-friendly alternatives like electric vehicles (EVs) is no longer a choice but a pressing need,” he remarked.

Smt. Smriti Irani, Politician, visited the Khalsa E-Vehicles stall at the 21st EV Expo at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, where she praised the company’s new electric vehicle launch, the ‘Luka’ (Model L5), which is powered by a high-speed lithium-ion battery with an impressive range of 200 km. She appreciated the launch of this product which will be beneficial for the people who will be driving it and earn their living. ‘Luka’ is the first in its class in India. Irani emphasized that electric vehicles are the “need of the hour” and applauded the efforts of Narang Brothers and team, for their visionary work in advancing sustainable mobility solutions. She congratulated them for their contribution to India’s EV revolution.

Khalsa E-Vehicles, based in Muzaffarnagar, is a pioneering Indian manufacturer of commercial electric vehicles. The company operates under the leadership of Shivam Narang, Managing Director, and Satyam Narang, CEO.

The highlight of the event was the launch of Khalsa EV’s latest three-wheeler model, L5 ‘Luka’, which is equipped with cutting-edge technology. Powered by a high-speed Lithium-ion battery, Luka offers an impressive range of 200 km, making it the first in its class in India. Key features include an 11.77 KW battery, peak torque of 40 NM, a top speed of 44 km/h, and an advanced IPM motor. Additionally, the vehicle comes with a five-year warranty on its Lithium-ion smart batteries and supports fast charging within 4-5 hours. Luka also boasts an automatic gearbox for enhanced usability.

Shivam Narang, Managing Director of Khalsa E-Vehicles Pvt. Ltd, expressed his gratitude, saying, “We are deeply honored by the presence of Shri Ajay Tamta ji, who inaugurated our new line of three-wheelers yesterday, and the esteemed visits of Shri Singh ji and Smt. Irani ji today.”

Satyam Narang, CEO of Khalsa E-Vehicles Pvt. Ltd, added, “Our mission at Khalsa is to design and deliver products that not only fulfill the immediate demands of the market but also pave the way for a sustainable future. The launch of our eco-friendly product line represents a significant step forward in reducing environmental impact.”

The EV Expo 2024 continues to be a key platform for showcasing innovations that underline the importance of transitioning to sustainable and green mobility solutions.
