Bengaluru-based EV startup Emobi has announced a new partnership with Musashi Seimitsu Industry to introduce advanced e-Axle technology in its upcoming AKX electric scooter. The collaboration aims to strengthen the performance, efficiency, and riding experience of electric two-wheelers in India’s fast-growing EV market.

The upcoming AKX scooter will become the second model from Emobi to feature Musashi’s e-Axle system after the launch of the Kyari electric scooter in 2025. The company said the latest integration is designed to support both urban commuting and last-mile mobility operations while improving reliability and overall vehicle performance.

According to Emobi, the AKX electric scooter has been developed specifically for Indian road conditions and customer expectations. The advanced e-Axle setup combines the motor, inverter, and gearbox into a compact unit, helping deliver smoother acceleration, better torque output, and quieter performance during daily rides.

Musashi stated that its proprietary reduction gear technology, developed from years of experience in two-wheeler transmission systems, allows the EV drive unit to offer acceleration and torque levels similar to conventional petrol-powered scooters. The company also highlighted that the technology improves energy efficiency while maintaining strong real-world performance.

Bharath Rao, CEO and Co-Founder of Emobi, said the AKX has been designed to meet the evolving demands of India’s electric mobility sector. He added that the integration of Musashi’s e-Axle technology enhances the scooter’s riding dynamics while keeping efficiency and durability at the core of the product strategy.

India continues to remain one of the world’s largest two-wheeler markets, and EV adoption in the segment is rapidly increasing. Through this partnership, Emobi and Musashi aim to accelerate the development of high-performance electric mobility solutions while supporting the country’s transition toward cleaner and more sustainable transportation.
