Enviro Infra Engineers has entered the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) sector after securing major projects from NTPC worth over ₹1,070 crore. The contracts are part of a larger ₹1,481 crore order book addition secured by the company in March 2026, strengthening its position in India’s growing renewable energy infrastructure space.
The projects mark the company’s strategic expansion into energy storage, a key technology required to support renewable energy integration and grid stability. With India rapidly increasing its solar and wind capacity, battery storage is becoming essential for managing peak demand and ensuring reliable power supply.
Under the contract scope, the company will handle engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the BESS projects. The work includes supply, installation, testing, commissioning and long-term maintenance of the storage systems to ensure performance efficiency and operational reliability.
The company believes that entering the BESS segment will help it diversify beyond its core water and wastewater treatment infrastructure business. This move positions Enviro Infra Engineers as a broader infrastructure player focusing on both environmental and clean energy projects.
Industry trends indicate that battery energy storage is still in an early stage in India, creating strong future opportunities for companies entering the sector. Increasing renewable penetration is expected to drive strong demand for grid-scale storage projects in the coming years.
Company leadership stated that these NTPC orders represent an important milestone in its clean energy diversification strategy. With a strong execution pipeline and growing demand for sustainable infrastructure, the company expects these projects to support long-term growth and strengthen its market presence.
