Ferrari has officially revealed its first fully electric vehicle, the “Luce,” marking a major turning point for the legendary Italian luxury carmaker. The new EV was showcased in Rome with a futuristic design, advanced technology, and a strong focus on performance. Ferrari says the Luce has been developed to deliver the emotional driving experience the brand is known for, even without a traditional combustion engine.
The Ferrari Luce comes with a four-door, five-seat layout and is powered by a quad-motor electric setup producing more than 1,000 horsepower. The company claims the EV can achieve a top speed of over 310 km/h while offering a driving range of around 530 km on a single charge. Ferrari has also equipped the vehicle with an 800V architecture and a 122 kWh battery pack to support ultra-high performance and fast charging capability.
In terms of design, the Luce takes a bold step away from Ferrari’s traditional styling language. The car features a sleek aerodynamic body, large glass surfaces, modern lighting elements, and a luxury-focused cabin. Ferrari collaborated with LoveFrom, the design studio founded by former Apple designer Jony Ive, to create both the exterior and interior experience. The cabin combines physical controls with digital displays to maintain a more engaging driving feel.
Ferrari has also worked extensively on preserving the brand’s signature emotional character in its electric era. Instead of using artificial engine sounds, the company developed a special sound system that amplifies natural vibrations from the electric powertrain. According to Ferrari, this technology is designed to create a unique “electric Ferrari” sound while maintaining the excitement associated with the brand’s performance cars.
The luxury EV is expected to carry a starting price of around €550,000, which is approximately ₹6 crore. Ferrari plans to begin customer deliveries in late 2026, with global bookings already attracting significant attention from high-end buyers and collectors. The Luce is aimed at a new generation of luxury customers who are increasingly interested in advanced electric mobility without compromising on exclusivity or performance.
With the launch of the Luce, Ferrari joins the growing list of premium performance brands entering the electric vehicle segment. However, unlike many rivals that have slowed down their EV strategies, Ferrari is positioning the Luce as a technology flagship for the future. The company believes the new model will help expand its presence in emerging luxury EV markets while preserving the identity and heritage that define the Ferrari brand.
