Honda made headlines with the global debut of its new high-performance electric vehicle, the “Honda Prelude EV Concept,” while also honoring six decades of its legendary Formula 1 legacy. The dual celebration underscored Honda’s deep roots in motorsports and its growing commitment to electrification.

The all-electric Prelude EV, showcased for the first time globally, reflects Honda’s evolving design philosophy combining emotion and technology. The coupe-style EV features a sleek aerodynamic profile and next-gen performance capabilities, blending Honda’s sports DNA with a sustainable powertrain. While technical details remain limited, the vehicle symbolizes Honda’s direction in future EV mobility.

Honda’s presence at Goodwood also featured a vibrant motorsport display, paying tribute to its 60-year journey in Formula 1. Iconic F1 cars such as the RA272, which earned Honda its first F1 victory in 1965, were showcased alongside modern machines, tracing the company’s rich legacy in competitive racing.

Takahiro Hachigo, Executive Advisor at Honda Motor Co., highlighted the symbolic importance of combining the company’s motorsport history with its electric future. “Goodwood represents speed, heritage, and innovation — the perfect venue to celebrate our racing milestones and introduce our next-gen EV concept,” he stated during the event.

In addition to the EV debut and F1 tribute, Honda also exhibited its latest hybrid and electric offerings, including the e:Ny1 and CR-V e:PHEV, reflecting the brand’s transition roadmap. The display attracted global media and EV enthusiasts, reinforcing Honda’s growing portfolio in electrified mobility.

With the unveiling of the Prelude EV Concept and the commemoration of 60 years in Formula 1, Honda sent a strong message about its future strategy. Combining performance heritage with electric innovation, the brand reaffirmed its place at the intersection of motorsports passion and sustainable technology.
