In a significant move in the intelligent vehicle space, global AI device ecosystem leader HONOR has entered into a strategic partnership with new-energy vehicle giant BYD. The collaboration focuses on integrating HONOR’s connectivity solutions with BYD’s next-generation DiLink smart ecosystem, setting the stage for user-centric, AI-powered mobility experiences.

The alliance is described as more than a simple technology tie-up; it is a forward-looking commitment to developing the future of intelligent mobility. HONOR stresses that the partnership is rooted in a human-centric approach to technology aiming to combine the strength of both companies in creating seamless, smart living and smart-driving scenarios.

According to HONOR’s CEO, James Li, “we have always believed that the key to maximising human potential lies in the combination of a human-centric focus and technology.” He added that the collaboration with BYD represents a comprehensive engagement for the AI era, with smart mobility as the key strategic focus.

Part of the vision also emphasises how devices, vehicles and lifestyles can work together in harmony. In the words of CP Khandelwal (CEO, PSAV Global official partner for HONOR smartphones): the collaboration “reflects our shared vision of creating an interconnected, AI-driven world where devices, vehicles, and lifestyles work in harmony.”

The partnership will advance along three main pillars: (1) Core technology and features such as joint innovation in cross-device ecosystem integration, AI agent integration, and high-precision Bluetooth-based car key; (2) Channel ecosystem and user benefits through a collaborative channel model leveraging HONOR’s connected vehicle capabilities and BYD’s intelligent ecosystem to maximise platform interoperability; and (3) Joint communications and user engagement via collaborative marketing, joint launches and user engagement around key launch milestones.

This cooperation builds on previous joint work between HONOR and BYD: their collaboration began in 2023 when they introduced smartphone NFC car-keys enabling BYD owners to lock/unlock vehicles with HONOR smartphones. Then in 2024 it extended to in-vehicle fast charging, and now in 2025 the partnership is deepening into seamless phone-to-car connectivity, digital keys and other smart features.
