Exicom, a producer of EV chargers, and Hubject, a participant in EV interoperability, have partnered strategically. Together, they will make better use of Hubject’s cutting-edge technology to upgrade India’s EV charging network. Encouraging electric vehicle owners to locate and utilize charging stations more effectively is the aim.
The partnership will primarily focus on Hubject’s Plug&Charge platform, which seeks to establish a regional hub in India that will provide access to cutting-edge technology and assist local charge station operators in meeting ISO15118 regulations. According to the firm, the goal is to create India’s first Plug&Charge standard and fully automated charging capabilities, positioning the nation as a leader in this technology. With the use of this standard, electric vehicle (EV) drivers in India will be able to connect and identify their cars with compatible charging stations instantly, removing the need for apps or RFID cards and streamlining the charging procedure.
The CEO of Hubject, Christian Hahn, spoke about the quickly growing electric vehicle sector in India, noting that sales of EVs almost doubled in the previous year and are expected to rise by 66% this year. He noted that by improving the dependability and ease of EV drivers’ charging experiences, Hubject’s interchange platform and its strategic alliance with Exicom are well-positioned to assist this expansion. He underlined how crucial this program is to encouraging more Indian drivers to convert from fossil fuel-powered to electric automobiles.
In his remarks, Exicom CEO Anant Nahata emphasized the importance of enhancing the smoothness and dependability of EV charging in India. He clarified that the goal of their collaboration with Hubject is to give EV drivers a seamless charging experience. They intend to improve the charging experience for EV consumers across the country by streamlining payment processes and reducing the need for various wallets by establishing a central interoperability hub. The charging procedure is made simpler by Hubject’s interoperability technology, which enables drivers to find, access, and pay for charging services through the interfaces of their choice without having to use different memberships or payment methods.
With the same ease as mobile phone users transfer networks, this technology enables drivers to move between various charging station operators. The ultimate goal is to make charging an electric vehicle (EV) as easy and straightforward as refueling a conventional car using fossil fuels.
