As part of its Charge project, MG (Morris Garages) has installed 500 chargers in 500 days around India. The goal of the program, which was introduced in 2022, is to install 1,000 charging stations in 1,000 days in apartment buildings, condominiums, and societies to facilitate charging for both residents and guests.

CEO of MG Motor India Gaurav Gupta says, “MG aspires to do more than provide cutting-edge electric vehicles.” This historic achievement of setting up 500 chargers in as many days highlights MG Charge’s mission to build a strong EV ecosystem that not only encourages but also accelerates the general adoption of environmentally friendly transportation. Our conviction lies in providing not only chargers but also easily accessible and convenient solutions that will improve the whole ownership experience of electric vehicles for a sustainable and promising future.

About fifty major cities have been covered by the strategically placed 7.4kW chargers that MG Motor India and its partners, Exicom Telesystems, ElectreeFi, EchargerBays, Ionage, Statiq, and Highway Delite, have been installing one installation per day on average.

With more than 15,000 charging stations around the country, including both public and residential chargers. Additionally, the company is closely collaborating with ecosystem partners to set up EV charging infrastructure, including Glida, TPCL, BPCL, Jio-bp, Statiq, Zeon, and ChargeZone; additionally, it is partnering with Attero and Lohum to recycle, reuse, and extend the life of batteries.

The recent collaboration between MG Motor India and the NITI Aayog-led Shoonya – Zero Pollution Mobility initiative highlights the company’s dedication to advancing electric cars.
