Kinetic Watts & Volts (KWV), the electric mobility arm of Kinetic Engineering, has announced a strategic technology partnership with Jio Things, a subsidiary of Jio Platforms, aimed at bringing advanced connected features to India’s electric two-wheelers. The collaboration was revealed on December 22, positioning both companies at the forefront of digital innovation in the country’s rapidly evolving EV sector.

Under the agreement, upcoming electric two-wheeler models from KWV will be equipped with a suite of connected vehicle technologies, including voice-assisted controls and IoT-enabled smart digital clusters. These systems are designed to enhance rider convenience, safety, and real-time vehicle interaction by leveraging Jio Things’ extensive IoT ecosystem comprising edge devices, connectivity, cloud infrastructure, and remote management capabilities.

The integration of digital and connected tech will allow riders to access real-time data, voice-enabled vehicle control, diagnostics, and enhanced infotainment features, transforming everyday riding experiences with intuitive interfaces and smarter digital feedback. Fleet operators are also expected to benefit from advanced telematics, cloud analytics, and remote monitoring tools, which can improve operational efficiency and performance oversight.

According to company executives, this partnership aligns with Kinetic’s goal of making EV technology more accessible and smarter for mainstream users. Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Kinetic Watts & Volts, emphasized that embedding voice assistance and connected capabilities into mass-market electric scooters reinforces the company’s long-standing commitment to innovation and practical rider value.

Representatives from Jio Platforms have highlighted how the collaboration supports their broader vision of building a connected automotive ecosystem in India, where digital technology is tightly integrated with mobility solutions. By combining Jio Things’ full-stack IoT platform with KWV’s manufacturing and engineering expertise, the alliance aims to set new standards for smart, safe, and connected electric mobility.

Industry observers say the move reflects a growing trend among EV makers to incorporate software-driven experiences and connected services into products, catering to rising consumer expectations and competitive pressures in the electric two-wheeler market. With this joint initiative, KWV positions itself as one of the early adopters of voice-assisted connected EV technology in the mass-market segment, accelerating India’s shift toward a future of intelligent and digitally enhanced electric mobility.
