Terra Motors, the Japan-based EV maker, is ramping up its presence in Telangana and southern India with its Kyoro electric three-wheeler. The vehicle is priced at ₹3.65 lakh on-road and boasts an IP67 motor, a top speed of 55 km/h, and a long 200-km range per charge, tailored for India’s diverse last-mile transport needs.

The move aligns closely with Telangana’s EV policies, which currently offer 100% exemption on road tax and registration fees for all EVs until December 2026. So far, the state has recorded over 259,000 EV registrations and issued 20,000 new electric autorickshaw permits in Hyderabad, underscoring its potential as a hub for clean mobility.

The Kyoro EV comes with several advanced features aimed at improving performance and reducing operating costs. These include an 11.7 kWh battery delivering 200 km per charge, a 2-speed gearbox capable of handling steep climbs (up to 22% grade), fast charging (~4 hours), and a compact design suited for urban traffic. Buyers also get a 5-year warranty along with finance options with zero down payment.

To support its expansion, Terra Motors is offering exclusive dealership territories in Hyderabad and other districts in Telangana. The company is leveraging its experience with successful distribution partnerships in northern India to ensure that dealers are supported with market insights, feedback mechanisms, and profitability levers.

Go Suzuki, Managing Director of Terra Motors, said Kyoro is designed for the conditions of Indian roads and for drivers, and that the prevailing government incentives in Telangana make now an ideal time for dealers to join the EV transition.

With policy support, strong product specs, and dealer incentives, Terra Motors aims for Telangana to become a priority EV hub. The Kyoro is seen as a sustainable, profitable option for both cargo and passenger-based last-mile transport, likely accelerating EV adoption in southern India rapidly.
