In a significant stride toward bolstering the country’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure and fostering a more sustainable future, Mahindra & Mahindra announced on Thursday the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Adani Total Energies E-Mobility Ltd (ATEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Total Gas Ltd.
The MoU outlines a roadmap for the development of an extensive EV charging infrastructure nationwide.
According to a joint statement by the companies, this partnership will facilitate the deployment of e-mobility solutions aimed at providing customers with seamless access to the charging network. These solutions will encompass aspects such as discovery, availability, navigation, and transactions.
Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M Ltd, commented, “This collaboration is pivotal in strengthening the EV charging infrastructure, ensuring our customers enjoy seamless access to the charging network, and integrating digital solutions for an exceptional EV experience.”
Mahindra XUV400 customers will now gain access to over 1,100 chargers through the Bluesense+ App.
Suresh P. Manglani, Executive Director and CEO of Adani Total Gas Ltd, remarked, “This partnership further expands Adani Total Gas Ltd’s presence in the EV domain. Collaborating with M&M on charging infrastructure will bolster customer confidence in adopting EV technology as part of the energy transition.”
He added, “Together, these initiatives will contribute to reducing carbon emissions and supporting India’s climate action objectives.”
Aligned with commitments made at COP 26, the collaboration between Mahindra and ATEL underscores the importance of collective action in decarbonizing transportation and transitioning toward an electric and sustainable future.
ATEL emphasized its commitment to providing clean energy solutions across various sectors, furthering India’s progress toward a sustainable and electrified future.
