India’s farming giant Mahindra & Mahindra has pulled back the curtain on a next-generation range of tractors that includes CNG, ethanol flex-fuel, and fully electric models at the Agrovision 2025 exhibition. This strategic move demonstrates the company’s ambition to institutionalise cleaner, smarter agriculture across rural India.
At the event, Mahindra emphasised that the new lineup is engineered to address multiple challenges facing Indian farmers—rising fuel costs, emissions concerns, and the requirement for high-efficiency equipment. The exhibited models are designed not just for power and performance, but also for adaptability across diverse farming conditions.
Among the highlights are the ethanol flex-fuel tractors, capable of running on multiple fuel blends. These machines offer farmers resilience amid fluctuating fuel prices and uncertainties in diesel supply. In parallel, Mahindra’s CNG tractors are pitched as cost-effective alternatives with lower operational expense and environmental footprint.
The electric tractor series offers near-zero emissions and is tailored for the future of farming. Mahindra emphasises lower maintenance needs and the potential for smart farm system integration, signalling a shift in how mechanised agriculture could evolve in India’s rural heartland.
Executives at Mahindra noted that this unveiling is part of a broader strategy to lead India’s clean agricultural transition. By leveraging the new equipment range, the company aims to support farmers in adopting reliable, future-ready machinery that aligns with national green-farming objectives.
In all, the showcase at Agrovision 2025 reinforces Mahindra’s commitment to sustainable, tech-driven farming solutions. It positions the company at the cusp of India’s rural transformation—where agriculture, technology and sustainability converge.
